Who we are
Our lodge is named after the pioneering Norwegian textile artist Frida Hansen. She was born in Stavanger in 1855 and lived an inspiring life of repairing, creating and teaching weaving and embroidery until her passing in 1931.
Please read this article highlighting her exceptional artistic talents, international awards and work for women’s rights: https://www.nasjonalmuseet.no/en/stories/explore-the-collection/frida-hansen/
The Frida Hansen Lodge #37 was founded in Portland in 1989. We are currently 70 members strong, including 11 Officers representing enduring female leadership and sisterhood.
